People with Huntington’s disease that attended HD Reach’s Education Day on Saturday, April 7, 2018 participated in a Let’s Do Art, session. It was conducted by Terry Buehner, the jewelry artist that made and donated the jewelry found in the Store Front Jewelry catalog of our website.. Each participant of this session was paired up with another person that also has Huntington’s disease. They were given a 14 x10 inch canvas. Their first step was to dip a cylinder sponge into tempera paint and dap circles on the canvas. Then with sponge brushes they used pre-cut stencils to paint designs. They could dap the sponge brush or used the stencils or both. The next step was to drip deluded paint from a straw over the painting. The next step was to brush across the painting with the sponge brushes. The final step was to write positive words on their creation. Each painting is unique, creative and colorful. They make the viewer smile.
HD Reach has made 10.5" x 14.25" prints on high quality paper of these original paintings, ready for framing, and is offering them for sale for $19.50 each ($15 + $4.50 shipping/handling). All proceeds go to HD Reach.
